This is Lindsay M. here, taking over Donna's amazing blog for a while. I'm super excited to be here taking care of Bougie and the birds!
Alaska is truly amazing, such a gorgeous place! Seeing the moose almost everyday still WOW's me every time!! I also saw a gorgeous white rabbit too!

On to the crafty things! Donna has generously let me use her craft room while I stay here, and it's simply amazing!! i love everything she has! I told her if she is missing anything when I leave, it's bougies fault! haha!!

So my first card I made a cute Valentine card, this image is so adorable! I love anything with mice and cats! This is a simple and quick card to make.
I colored in the image with Copic markers.

Tropical Get Away

Warming up my bones in the HOT Hawaii sun! After weeks of chilling temperatures and dark days of winter it feels good to be in the hot tropical sunshine. Fellow A Muse friend, Lindsay was willing to travel to Alaska for an adventure to care for Bougie and her babies. Bougie didn't come through with babies but, Lindsay still wanted to come for her Arctic adventure!

A Muse Studio Sneak Peek "Come FLY with me"

What a fun and versatile new set from A Muse Studio! I really resisted getting all "distressy" with this card, choosing to keep it plain and white. The fun, rainy looking, dark gray paper and ink is the new "Seattle" color. This is going to be a favorite basic color of mine, I can tell! The font reminds me a bit of a vintage letterpress style and the set comes with five (5) sentiment options and 6 different images!

I am enjoying the Online Card Classes with Kristina Werner, Jennifer McGuire, Julie Ebersole and Friends. All the new ideas are inspirational and I'm re-learning important little things I had forgotten and enjoying the participant gallery's which are filled with beautiful cards.

Stunning Color, is how I describe the new Venetian palette of beautiful papers that A Muse Studio will be showcasing with the launch of their 2012 Collection of images, papers and products. Names that make me long for Italy like; Belini, Burano, Lido, Titian and Rialto. There are new ink colors as well! Happy Hat Day

Happy National Hat Day! I didn't know there was such a thing as National Hat Day, but here's a card compliments of my winnings from One Little Spark, The Shop. As part of their celebration of the recent HERO ARTS new 2012 products release, they had a drawing for the Hero Stamp and Die Set "Ladies with Hat's." I won!

I found my lace and vintage buttons and stretched to find a style that is a little different for me. I do love paper piecing and my BasicGrey "picadilly" paper pack had a perfect "vintage" looking paper that I used for 'my lady's dress. I used Copics to color up the rest of her.

Love Always & Friends - Clean & Simple

Being a fan of the Clean and Simple, I knew this class would be right up my alley! I love the format of the classes, set up in such a way if you can't participate on any specific "day," you can forever go back and view it when you get a chance. Since my youngest is home for the last bit of her Christmas break from college, we've been doing things together and I haven't been in my Studio much. I am loving our first week of the Clean and Simple Online Card Class and when the house is quiet, I've snuck off to my Studio and enjoyed the samples, video's and downloads.

Kristina started us off with an adorable Clean and Simple card leaving a large "white space" by using a Mask in a 3" square. Her inspiration used 3 hearts above the sentiment. I used HERO arts Lace Background so I thought the punched flowers matched up nicely with the lacey flowers.

Maile Belles shared another "Sketch" inspiration with her "Happy Card." She used a Papertrey Ink die to cut her "happy" whereas I substituted the "Cherish Border" die from Memory Box. I popped my border accent up with dimensionals to get it that extra little shadow. It pairs simply perfect with a•muse|studio rubber stamps "Love Always" sentiment from the popular HandScripted set.

Love taking classes and stretching my creative wings a bit. It sure beats shoveling snow!

Heart so Happy

A Happy Heart card today! This week was a bit of an emotional roller coaster. Happy our daughter came home to Alaska for the remainder of Christmas break since we missed having her home at Christmas time, sharing her with her boyfriends family. The boyfriend is a big draw, too! So we were happy and excited. Our other child, the dog, had an incident after fooling us all into thinking she was having puppies, after a planned breeding. That had us back and forth at the Vet's for a couple days and back on the roller coaster. Thankfully, a friend hooked us up with an incredible veterinarian that seems a bit like Dr. Doolittle, who proclaimed our dog not in any life threatening situation. Whew. Heart SO Happy.

Happy for little things; a brand new year, healthy kids and dogs, and grandkids, news of a friend being a grandma to a set of twins, bible study starting again, a studio filled with fun projects, new rubbah and paper, new recipes to try out on friends who join us around the table, the days which are getting lighter and brighter by minutes each day and a friend who will soon come to spend time with Bougie the Silky dog so we can escape to warmer temperatures for just a short visit.

Life's roller coaster! Buckle up! Hugs and Blessings for a Happy New Year!

Cup of Christmas Cheer

a•muse|studio Ticket Die and "That's the Ticket" stamp set make a cute tag for the Stampington & Company Mug Template that I modified here for my Cup of Christmas Cheer card. An offset Nestibilities Oval make up the mug handle with a little trimming.

When I saw the Starbucks Via Coffee and Hot Chocolate packs I thought it would be fun to mail them to a few friends that I really wish I could sit down with and have a little chat and a cuppa. Sometimes it's just good to stop, have a cup of something warm and gather our thoughts (and maybe our "wits") during the busy rush about during this Christmas season.

This adorable, easy to make box holds 3 Ghirardelli Chocolate Squares perfectly. Beate has a video and step by step tutorial, on Splitcoast Stampers, that makes these simple to make and fun to decorate! Once I started making them, it was hard to stop! The only downfall was not to eat the chocolate squares but, to make sure they made it into the boxes.

I gave it a try using a little bit of an unconventional design. I was literally holding this MB Crisp Bow that I had die-cut out of some Foil Tape Sheets, when what to my twinkling eyes should appear, but this idea that streaked through my brain! I turned the bow die upside down on a circle I had punched out and "Voila!" a fancy ornament embellishment!

The Winter Stag stamp set has been a favorite of mine this year by a•muse|studio and I used it to make the flourishes on the "ornaments" as well as for the sentiment.

Santa's gone Postal

I needed a quick card today. Many things on the to do list and wanted a card that I could put together super fast. A little package needed to be mailed and taken to the post office and I wanted a card to put inside. I love this Santa image from a•muse|studio Vintage Christmas Postmarks set. He's vintage looking and yet authentic of how I like my Santa's to look. Very quickly I colored him in with Copics and used a Circle Nestibilities to punch him out. Next, added a size in Cherry for another layer and finished it with a Fern colored Scalloped Circle Nestibilities. The Candy Cane paper by a•muse|studio is a favorite, which matches perfectly with Cherry for the traditional Christmas look. I Versamarked the "cancellation" stamp in the Vintage Christmas Postmarks for my background. The HO HO HO Sentiment is from the "Mini Holiday Messages set. If you don't have this one yet, you need it!

Sometimes I'll sit and get lost in a design and it seems to take forever for my card to take shape. Not so with this one. Bam! Layers on, Sentiment banner stamped, trimmed and done! Just how I like it! Hope you do!!!

Woodgrain, Holly & Merry Christmas

Recognize this Clean & Simple design with mega "Style?" When I saw the card, I did a little squeal in my studio! I love Julie's creations. This design is simple to "reproduce" in mass so would make a great choice for your holiday card! Julie Ebersole is one of the Guest Designers for the online "Holiday Card Boot Camp." Each day there are new cards, and new video tutorials loaded for you to watch at your convenience. What could be easier than that? Lots of ideas different from mine, so it makes for great inspiration!

I didn't have the exact "Holly" that Julie used on her card, although it was really cute. Instead, I substituted a 2011 Penny Black image using only a portion of the stamp. I used a•muse|studio Woodgrain Background stamp (which I love) and substituted the a•muse|studio "Wasabi" pigment ink which I let dry and then deepened the color with colored pencils. I love the look of colored pencil on Kraft paper. It took a bit longer with the pencils than with a darker "dye" based ink, that I would use when producing in mass but, for my "masterpiece" I enjoyed working with the pencils.
I also substituted a Hero Sentiment "Merry Christmas" and loved the look of Julie's "faux" ribbon with the Signo pen stitching.

Julie's video was well done, entertaining & full of her bubbling personality and chortle's.

Holiday Card Boot Camp

Camping isn't my favorite. But, I'm having so much fun taking the Online Holiday Card Boot Camp. So here we are at Day 5 and I shrieked with delight as I saw a card I loved, with a fun and simple design. I knew it had to be...Julie Ebersole! She is one of the many tremendous Guest Designers in this fabulous class.

Day 3 with Jennifer McGuire had us using the new Hero Arts & Sizzix Stamp & Emboss set's with Textured impressions to create that "Letterpress" look. Wow! I substituted product I had on hand by a•muse|studio "Fern ink" and Memento "New Sprout" to come up with a combination that pretty much mimicked that Letterpress effect. Jennifer encouraged us to use a variety of different die cuts or photo's to fill up our circle cut, but I had an a•muse|studio "Tree Die" that worked perfectly after I snipped a little off the bottom. I twinkled it up with stickers and pearls and was happy with how it turned out.

One thing that Jennifer did that I just could not bring myself to do was cut my rubber. It's obviously an advanced technique of the mind over matter thing. So when I only needed a "part" of my sentiment and didn't want to chance getting the other words inky, I covered those words with Washi tape. Yep, I did - just taped right over those words I didn't want and they didn't mind at all. And no rubber was hurt in the process.

Winter Stag - a•muse|studio rubber stamps

Brrrr. My world looks like a "Snow-Globe!" The storm hitting Alaska didn't produce much where I live but gave us a good dose of snow last night. It's so pretty on the inside looking out. Makes me think of the a•muse|studio Snow Globe die that I used on my card featuring the stag from the "Winter Stag" set. I love how that stag just stands there so serenely. His size fits just perfectly inside the Snow Globe die. The biggest challenge I had was choosing the pedestal base on the Globe. I love card stock and there were so many perfect choices with all the 40 some colors of card stock available through a•muse|studio. I think I ended up with Slate. The Globe part is punched in Sky Blue. The image stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black and Colored in with Copics. Pebble makes up the Card with an impression plate putting the snow like dots in the background. Little piece of red twine accessorizes the pedestal on the globe.

Autumn Flowers

a•muse|studio sentiment in the Autumn Leaves set is a quote from Albert Camus. I love thinking about fall being a second Spring and the comparison of leaves to flowers. Sigh. Usually Fall passes quickly in Alaska with strong winds blowing the leaves off the trees before they've barely turned yellow. This year Autumn lasted a little longer than most and we did enjoy nice fall days with a little warmer temperatures. Winter however has settled in with a chill and we have sub 20 temperatures that make a girl glad to wear her "longie's!"
I used the Tim Holtz "Alterations" Autumn Gatherings die to provide the banner of leaves in a variety of beautiful fall colors in card stock by a•muse|studio. Sentiment stamped in a•muse|studio "Pumpkin" ink.

House Mouse Hottie! This card says it perfectly! My friend Lori is a lover of House Mouse and is a Design Team Member and most recently a member of Our Craft Lounge Design Team and then in her spare time she is also an a•muse|studio Creative Consultant. I first met Lori when we were both A Muse Art Stamps Instructors. We've met up a few other times and let me tell you Lori ROCKS! She doesn't do anything unless it's full speed ahead " Git ER Done!" She's a JAVA junkie and makes chocolate chip cookies that "sparkle" - she does. She puts glitter on her cookies. That's it right there. Glitter? Cookies? Yep! So Lori - this is for you Girl! Pop-Up 3 D Gift Holder - a•muse|studio Style

Splitcoast Stampers had this easy Gift Card Holder as their featured tutorial today. I had fun using a•muse|studio rubber stamps and dies and BasicGrey papers to make mine.

I like to make lots of Gift Holders ahead so I have them handy for gift giving during the Christmas Holidays. Change up the papers and the Cover die cuts and it works nicely for Birthdays and other gift giving. And, if a Gift Card, isn't what you had in mind, the little envelope will hold CA$H nicely.

Snowman Window Card - a•muse|studio

Its a Snowy Day today and perfect timing for my seasonal Snowman Window Card featuring wintery stamps by a•muse|studio rubber stamps!
This idea for doing little peek•a•boo windows for a card has been rolling around in my brain waiting for a chance to escape! It was a little challenging punching my 1" square Nestibilities square on only 3 sides. And making sure my alignment was straight. Bordering out the windows made the look more finished and a little more interesting.

I added dimensional pop dots to the "face of the card" raising it up a bit from the stamped images in the "windows."

It's fun to challenge yourself to do something you hadn't tried before! This adorable little snowman is found in the a•muse|studio Holiday Tags and the sentiments in the Mini Holiday Messages sets.

Sisters, Chocolate and Paper Applique!

Chocolate & Sisters, what could be better? There's lots of different kinds of "Sisters" so this fun "How Sweet it is" set from My Favorite Things can be very handy! Paper Piecing is one of those things to get "lost" in. It's totally addicting! You plan on doing one little thing and before you know it, you are in the midst of a puzzle. Normally, I stay away from puzzles, but this has me hooked. It harkens back to my love of appliqué, I think.

In this image it started with the chair and the flowers, and it just kept perpetuating itself. I used Copic Markers on the "chocolates" and highlights and shadows, but other than that, it's all paper pieced!

Created as a "Workshop" card for a friend of mine. Such a quick and easy, yet elegant card. It would be a perfect card to make a large number of to send to many on your card list.

This card uses only two (2) of the 7 images that come with this " Winter Stag" set. The set includes a snowflake border as well as individual snowflakes, an Elk, a dramatic Flourish and a winter "moon" type image. I love the elegance of this set from a•muse|studio!

Christmas at Dusk

PB&J (Penny Black & Jill Foster) are offering up a Technique Challenge creating a background with Distress Inks. I've enjoyed this Penny Black image as part of my "collection" for years and inked it and linked it. Jill has a great technique video using 2 different Distress Inks and applying them in graduating colors. The two I used here were: Shabby Shutters & Forest Moss, Spun Sugar and Victorian Velvet. I touched up the edges of my tag with Walnut. The banner tag was sponged with Parchment.

I needed a small "Alpha" set for my sentiment banner & this Lawn Fawn set was perfect! This cute mouse reminded me of a time at Christmas (I was 12) when I had my own little Christmas all by myself and opened all my Christmas presents ahead of time, while my parents were "out" for the evening. I had to quickly wrap them all up again before anyone came back home. Whew!

Another "Halloweenie" Paper Smooches image featured today! I love the whimsical design Kim puts to the "Polymer" bringing a smile instead of a shriek! If you have visited my blog before you know I have a real love for my scissors, paper piecing or fussy cutting! So when I saw the cute "Frank" with his buggie eyes I was "had!"

Happy Boo Day!

It's hard to believe today my youngest is 21 years old! It seems like the time went at warp speed! It's fun to see her grow and approach life with the tenacity she always has had. She's a full speed ahead type person and is a JOY to be around! Since she is away at college, we had a great time celebrating her birthday when we visited the University for Parents Weekend a couple of weeks ago.

I played with a new Paper Smooches image for her "BOO day" card, today. I'll be mailing it along with some cookies and other fun stuff to keep the celebration going for a while!

It's always good to try something you haven't played with for a bit! In keeping with the "if you don't use it, you lose it" philosophy I thought I'd use my Copics on this great Kim Hughes stamp!

Hey BABY! I'm STUCK on YOU! A Muse Studio die with snowman's hat tilted just a bit to give him that flirty attitude! Making me ~Melt!~

These dies punch like butter thru the BIG SHOT! Just punched it thru again for his hat on A•Muse Onyx paper. Doesn't get any easier than that. The set "Friends Fur-ever" supplied the sentiment. Cut a snip of orange card stock for his nose, and some blingy bling a•muse creative candy and you have a sexy snowman with a face and an attitude.

Summer isn't quite over and yet, here in Alaska, there is that nip to the air. A warm sunny day here and there but, soon it will be easy to think of fall and "Pumpkins!"

I love this A Muse Studio Rubber Stamps set " Too Cute to Spook." It has 9 images in all with 10 little sentiments to go with it. Betty Crocker always did make Great Pumpkin Bars

Bars
4 eggs
2 cups granulated sugar
1 cup vegetable oil
1 can (15 oz) pumpkin (not the mix)
2 cups all-purpose flour (since I mill my own flour, I'm changing this to whole wheat)
2 teaspoons baking powder
2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
1 cup raisins
Cream Cheese Frosting
1 package (3 oz) cream cheese, softened
1/3 cup butter or margarine, softened
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 cups powdered sugar
1/2 cup chopped walnuts

350 degree Oven. Butter a 15x10 pan. Beat eggs, sugar, oil and pumpkin until smooth adding dry ingredients, raisins. Pour into pan and bake 25-30 min. Cool. When completely cool mix frosting ingredients together, beating in powdered sugar one cup at a time. Frost when smooth and sprinkle with nuts. Cut into bars.

Seems like our computer broadcasts a baseball game every night since Hill's boyfriend Wes is often pitching. He's played for the minor league Atlanta Braves team and right now is playing Independent league with the Windy City Thunderbolts.

You ROCK my world

My dog is one of the personalities in my life that "ROCKS" my world! She's a Silky Terrier, an 11 lb bundle of silky coated love. She's one of over 100 Silky Terriers who will be gathering together to celebrate the Silky Terrier Club of America's annual National Specialty. There will be Obedience and Agility trials and Confirmation competition and the grand TOP 2o event featuring some of the TOP 20 Silky Terrier's in the Nation.

I had to make a card to celebrate this fun event! A Muse Studio Rubber Stamps to the rescue! I used the "You Rock my world" image from the Clever Girls set and the Classic Labels for the outline from the Anniversary Set. The Silky Terrier (Critter Designs) image I've had for over 25 years! The ink is A Muse Studio Blackberry as is the border paper around the Nestibilities Die cut Ovals. The Ribbon is the Satin Ribbon from A Muse in Heather.

Baby Bougie has grown into a beautiful Silky girl who will be planning a family soon. She's looking for that perfect man dog who has all the lovely qualities she does. Not being one to rush into things, she's taking her time. Who knows, maybe she'll find him at the Silky Terrier Annual Specialty. Best Wishes to all!

I always did like "Recess." Julie Ebersole threw down (not up..teehee) a fun challenge this week for the A Muse Studio Consultants. She has a fantastic tutorial video up on her site, giving a great example of how to make a Recessed Window card.

I played once already here . That's my A Muse Studio Rubberstamps site, where you'll find all kinds of fun A Muse Studio cards and info on A Muse Studio products.

So here's my Cupcake! Ice Cream and Cupcake Recessed Window Cards...hmm you'd think I was thinking about food! I am. Gotta fit into a dress. Must.lose.pounds. Like I said once already today, "If you can't eat it, INK it!!!

Catalogs are a great source of inspiration for me. Whether it's color combo's or maybe just a little something that pushes me to try a different layout, magazines are a great resource! This card was actually inspired by one I saw in Expressionary catalog. Mine has my own twists and uses A Muse Studio rubber stamps, but this is a bit different than my normal "style."

So don't let a little dry spell get you down, "Bunkie" - pickup a catalog and a "cuppa" and let your mind wander.

Jesus Christ is Risen today! Alleluia! This card was part of an "Easter Basket" for our daughter off at college that I sent off a few weeks ago. A different Easter celebration than those we've had in the past, but still enjoying the thoughts of Easter. That Jesus was born, lived and died on the cross for the sin of mankind and was resurrected in His body so that one day we may, too! So although the days of bunny cakes, and dyed eggs have made way for other things, the eternal truths of what Christ did for you and for me, remain, still...into eternity. Alleluia!

Chick N Egg - Sister Style

She plays with fabric, I play with paper. My sister does wonderful things with fabric. Last week she surprised me with such a sweet pillow for Easter. I think I went "Aw!" for a half and hour just looking at it. We both love applique. The chick, flowers, and egg here are all felted wool applique. Her stitches are so perfect. Amazing. Look at that cute little button, wheel. The pillow front is a soft yellow swirly flannel and is backed with wool in a soft olive color to match the scalloped ribbon she chose for the edging.

Then I gave it a try in paper. A Muse Studio Rubber Stamps has a retired image "Chick" that I paired up with the birthday hat from "Itty Bitty Birthday" and the egg from "egg-stravaganza" and flowers from "friend to friend" and "snail & co." to come up with my rendition.

There are quite a few sentiments that matched the card idea, and then I found the “dessert first” sentiment from “The Scoop” stamp set. In our uncertain times, it’s good to eat dessert first. Paperlove has no calories!!! Cute older Penny Black image had all kinds of possibilities! I used some SEI "With all my heart" collection paper for "Paper Piecing" the candy box heart. Hit the bow on the candy box with a generous amount of Glossy Accents and dropped some on each little mouse candy, too! And, then....made myself the cutest little bow in the world with my new handy dandy itsy bitsy bow maker. More on that later!

Used my French canning jars to make these darling "Pies in a Jar" Just the best idea for a dessert. It was really easy and worked out perfectly! Company is coming for dinner and I wanted to make it simple. Looks so good, I just want to eat one now! I didn't have any squatty half pint jars so I used my canning jars that are usually drinking glasses at our house. I used to fill them with my husband's famous Fudge Sauce but I can't buy them locally anymore so I just keep them to "me self." Hmm...that's a thought, I'll just have to fly half way around the world to buy some more! I used my cute little heart cutter to cut a teeny heart in the pastry top but the blueberries bubbled up a bit and distorted it. The uncooked version above and the cooked bubbly version below!

My husband helps me with my papercrafting, occasionally. Especially when it calls for atomic force. Today was one of those kind of days. (Notice husband is wielding the atomic rubber mallet, it was a tougher than usual case)

Dear faithful friends...never put anything thicker than paper in your die cutting machines. What was I thinkin'???? Just going to make a little modification and it was a super skinny button any way... Ugh!

All ended well - a few bruises on my die cutting machine and the first card a total loss - but the only real bruises were to my head from hitting it so hard for being so dimwitted!

You can never go wrong giving a little *cash* at Christmas! Made up 12 little wallets, decorated them and filled them with a little "green" for my nieces and nephews. There are a few different design options out there but wanted something super easy since I was needing 12 of them! Had fun making them all different just like each of my favorite nieces and nephews! Wonder who will get which one?

Apologies for the "funky" lighting - I tried to grab these photos while the sun was out but we are down to less than 6 hours of light a day. I feel like hibernating!

Faux Leather Tag Card

A Muse "Birch Forest" and the bird from the "Blossom Branch with bird" teamed up on Kraft for a faux leather look. A recent discussion on the A Muse "LOUNGE" gave many different suggestions for using White Embossing Powder. Versamark on Birch Forest with Zing White Embossing powder gave a nice clear effect. Stamped the bird and used my Glue Pen to sticky it up for the AI Glitter in Fire Engine. A Muse sentiment stamped in Memento Rubarb Stalk. Another of the cards we'll be making in our December 2 class at the Stamp Attic - you lucky ducks!!!

It's been snowing...a lot. So I got inspired! Designing cards for a class at the Stamp Attic, December 2, 2010 from 6-8pm. This is a little shaker card using "Shake it" Shaker Card Pouches. Nestibililities Circle die makes the inner circle and the Nestibilities Scalloped die in 2 sizes make the outer scallops. All papers (except one scallop has MB-DP), stamps and creative candy by A Muse Color by Copics and Memento Rich Cocoa.

A swirly medallion birthday card for our youngest. Hard to believe the years have flown by so fast! It kind of reminds me of the swirls created by the accordion fold with the A Muse Candy Cane paper. I think this would look wonderfully fun at Christmas with Evergreen paper! Had this "Cute" button hoarded for so long it nearly wouldn't come off the acetate! Perfect for Hillary who is just "Cute as a Button!"

Corner Page Book Mark

Fall into a good book without loosing your place! This cute little fall themed corner bookmark is a simple 4" x 4" square, marked in the mid point at 2" and folded back at a triangle (similar to a paper airplane). It's held together in back by a A Muse Paprika triangle (square cut on the angle) that is taped to the folded over corners. The back portion since not being glued down holds the page of your book with the decorated front part facing you. A Muse Maple leaf image used here on nested Nestibilities.

It's that time again! Bright A Muse Papaya paper (cut to 4 bar size) paired up with "Kitchen Red" with a scallop punched end. A Muse Notebook paper cut to hold the sentiment. Solid Apple inked in Memento Dye inks. A Muse makes a great "Pencil" stamp as well which was hidden in my Stamp drawer...until I'd crafted my own out of a fun concoction of A Muse papers to include the Green Shimmer metal looking band on the eraser tip. Come to class at Stamp Attic on Saturday from 11-1 and we'll make this and other fun Fall things!

A Muse Crooked Hat providing entertainment for Three Mice Silhouette. Had fun playing with this! Masked up the hat so I could place my "meeces" where I wanted them. Hat is flocked with black velvet so even though it doesn't show up fuzzy in the photo, it is! Just love these meeces to pieces!

Feeling Fallish? I came up with this the other day when I saw a Papercrafts submission request for using "text." Since I don't have a lot of text type background stamps I printed off a page of "The Legend of Sleepy Hollow" and settled on some likable text and put it through my Nestibilities Labels die. My plumpy little pumpkin is also a Spellbinder's die cut out of some felted wool I have for applique. Spooky Tree and all my papers are by A Muse.

Funky Banner

This isn't my familiar style. I just got carried away. One of my favorite mom jobs has always been being able to be the "cheerleader" of my kids. Sometimes that meant screaming until I was hoarse while my son ran in a touchdown (one time I ran it in too, from the sidelines). Other times it was for soccer games. Sometimes I cheered for the play, other times I cheered for the kids, mine or others. Thankfully one doesn't cheer at concerts where my other daughter played the flute. Maybe being carried away is my familiar style. I'm still cheering my kids on. Black and Orange happen to be the colors of University of the Pacific, where one of my daughters attends. Mailing this off to her tomorrow with cookies. The evolving banner began with Nestibilities Labels 8 die and A Muse Onyx and Orange Crush papers. I love buying the latest and greatest papers but too often many great papers get left behind so I grabbed some of last years Memory Box 6x6 papers along with A Muse Kitchen Black and Orange and worked it into a banner. Large black eyelets on either side of each individual letter holds an orange strand of grograin orange ribbon that strings it together. Slice Vintage Findings produced the letters and layered jagged circle. I blame all the funk on Tim Holtz for his fabulous funky distress inks. Ribbon here and there by A Muse and May Arts (I think). Spritzed a little bit of Iridescent Gold Glimmer Mist. Teeny bits of A Muse Creative Candy finished off the adornment.

Trick or Treat?

Too busy, too long! Today I retreated to my crafty space & A Muse "d" myself. I liked the medallion look of the new Trick or Treat sentiment paired up with the Anniversary Classic Labels clear set. Used "Bat Trio" in Memento Tuxedo Black on twill tape that I Copic"ed" with YG23.

We're also cheering on University of the Pacific's "Tigers" this year! We are uber excited for our daughter's transfer to UOP! The campus is beyond beautiful, academics excellent, and the admin staff, soccer team and coaches are so welcoming. She enjoyed the "South" and all the sweet friends she met playing soccer for UTM but is very excited about playing on her own coast! We love that she is closer to home and we'll be rooting for the Pacific Tigers this week as they play University of Hawaii in Hawaii, Friday, August 20 at 10pm!

A Muse "Orange Crush" cardstock came in perfect along with the Black Dot and Orange ribbon for the little ribbon accent.

No worries daughter-you'll get cookies too!

There is something exciting about the change in seasons. The end of summer, the beginning of the school year, the last barbeque's and the first of the college soccer and football games. Our son is at U of Oregon and enjoy's writing for their paper.

Couldn't resist making him a U of O card to go along with a little cookie package! Inside is a retired A Muse sentiment "just ducky" - it was, of course, absolutely poifect since U of O are the "Ducks". Buttercup cardstock cut down to 4 bar size was the perfect color match!

Who wouldn't like a cookie box? Hope he enjoys these!

I used Brilliance Pearlescent Pigment ink on this so a quick once over with your heat gun is best to keep the smearies away! Merry Christmas!
